The Oldewoods is an imaginative, but grounded world built (as all Woodchi worlds are) from the foundations up for stories and games.
The narrative takes us on a journey through the valleys in a series of hearthside tales as told by fellows met along the way.
Alongside the book, game and ‘origins’ work, the world finds itself being discovered in an ongoing series of hand-illustrated vignettes and field journal entries of various findings and fellows. For example, as seen here in this field journal page.

In 2013 the ‘play anywhere - no surface required’ card game of dirigible duels ‘Oddball Aeronauts’ successfully funded on Kickstarter.
The artist now known as Woodchi created the world, the characters and airships and card designs, and as part of his Kickstarter strategy offered an extensive sketchbook, a field guide and bespoke heroes and dirigibles for backers at various pledge tiers.
He followed this up with a second set of two further distinctive factions.

‘‘of Shot & Blade’ was a working concept for a wildland adventure boardgame, set in the same universe as the debut card game ‘War for Edath’.
Ash (aka Woodchi) further developed the art design for Edath’s original fantasy, adding a post-cataclysm era to its already rich history.
The game took the players over a few locations as an episode’s objective dictated. Their squads would be deployed to overcome various obstacles and enemies and use a ‘dice vs dice’ contest to win through.
Various cards, tokens, maps and factions, including layouts and iconography, were crafted for the prototype.
